mother's day Mother’s Day celebrates that one special person who not only brought you into this world, but singlehandedly kisses boo-boo’s and make sure our tummy’s are full.

It’s imperative we do something for mom to thank her and appreciate her on that one special day! But finding the perfect gift for mom on Mother’s Day can be a tough task.  And finding one that doesn’t cost a bundle can be even more of a chore.  The good news is, you can surprise her with some great frugal gift ideas.

Keep in mind, some of the best Mother’s Day gifts are homemade. Moms always appreciate gifts that show their children have put their own time and creative effort into them.  But let’s face it, not all of us are creative or have the time to walk the kiddos through a craft.

Below I’ve listed some quick and meaningful homemade gifts, as well as offered up some great deals for those who prefer to buy something as well!

Giving mom a break from the kitchen is a special treat!  Make sure and take advantage of the savings at  You can give her a dining certificate so she can choose where she wants to treat the family for dinner!

Make a CD of your mother’s favorite songs. Download music from iTunes or another music website. Buy CD labels and design the label with a homemade Mother’s Day gift theme.

If she is “attached” to her phone, there are tons of free phone possibilities to remind her you love her. Try programming her favorite song as her ring tone or install a photo or slideshow of funny family outtakes as her screensaver.

Make a customized Mother’s Day gift picture frame. Buy a blank frame, and use a glue gun to attach beads, stones, sea shells, and/or jewelry.

Make Chocolate-Covered Strawberries or favorite cookies. Melt some chocolate and dip strawberries into the mixture. Place them on a baking tray and cool it in the fridge. Or just make her favorite cookies!

A simple visit and stroll down memory lane of the good times

Wash her car

Create a home spa

Remember a gift is always nice, but it really is the thought that counts, just being remembered by the children they choose to have is what means the most to any Mother.
