Warmer temperatures in Texas are synonymous with shorts, small shirts and swimming suits. And if you’ve got some handles you don’t want hanging around this summer consider a strawberry. Nah, not the fruit….Strawberry Laser.  🙂 They have been featured on prominent shows like the Rachel Ray Show as well as EXTRA and The Doctors.

It’s FDA cleared and claims you just lay there and let it do the work for you. I decided to check it out The Fit & Fancy in Grapevine with Leah Euston.

Tip #1: wear comfy clothes, like a sports bra and workout pants.

Tip #2: wear deodorant… enough said.

The process if pretty simple…you get marked for measurements (it washes right off) before and after so they are measuring the exact same area.  They place the paddles where you want to target the fat and just lay there for 10 minutes. It feels like a heating pad and a great time to grab some zzzz’s.

How Strawberry Laser Works:

When the laser paddles are placed on the skin, the Class2, 3B laser beams penetrates the skin just deep enough to reach the layers of fat (9-13mm). When the light hits the fat cells, a rapid chain of events takes place. Firstly, pores form on the cells causing them to spill out. The water, Glycerol and fatty acids move into the interstitial space beneath the fatty layer in the skin. Then further water, fatty acids and Glycerol spill out. The adipocyte cells reduce in size.  This disruption does not affect the neighbouring structures such as the skin, blood vessels or nerves.  The lymphatic system then removes the fat through the liver and kidneys, where they are processed in the same way as fatty foods, the rest is passed out in the urine.

After a 30 minute visit, I’m 3.5 inches thinner.  I really wanted to target my back area and was impressed with the results.  Now it’s up to ME to keep it off :)!

IMG_9261The FDA says the fat shrink is temporary but if patients watch their exercise and diet it should stick.

The cost can vary from clinics but on average it costs about $1,000 for 8 sessions.

BUT MyDFWMommy readers and WFAA viewers can get a special discount of $150 for one treatment, $999 for 4 treatments or $1499 for 8 treatments. One treatment normally costs $299 at The Fit & Fancy in Grapevine with Leah Euston. You can book on the website or call 214-402-8840.

As part of the cost at Euston’s spa, she incorporates the treatment with a healthy eating plan and exercise.
