11 apps everyone needs on their phone

In a technology and information driven age, apps are popping up everywhere, for every purpose!  With limited space on your phone, which apps do you think everyone needs on their phone to make life easier?  Here are our top 11 suggestions:

11 Apps Everyone Needs On Their Phone

*Fooducate

Fooducate allows you to scan the barcode of an item and view its “grade.” The database for the app grades food items based on everything from calories to controversial ingredients, giving you a clear picture of what you’re actually buying. It will even explain why an item has a particular grade and educates you on that item’s health value.

*Relax Melodies

This Relax Melodies app is my favorite.  You create your own custom sound to fall asleep to, or just relax.  From a campfire effect to rain on a tin roof sound, you combine the sounds that comfort you the most, and the app puts them together for you!

*Wunderlist

From reminders to shopping lists, this amazing Wunderlist app helps you keep your lists in order.  It’s especially cool because you can share your list with others, and it can also be downloaded on your Mac, and synced.  It’s super easy to use and a great way to stay organized!

*Quick Scan Bar Code Reader

This inventive Quick Scan app will save you the time of running from store to store for price comparison!  Use the camera on your phone to scan the barcode of any item you want to purchase.  Need more dishwashing tabs?  Scan the bar code and the app will let you know all of the places you can purchase it, with the prices!

*TuneIn Radio

TuneIn Radio app is a great resource for those that love listening to sports, news and music on the radio.  When you aren’t around a radio or can’t get your favorite station to tune in properly, use the TuneIn Radio app!

*SafeTrek

SafeTrek is an amazing app that can give you added comfort.  When it comes to safety, you can never be too cautious.  Whether walking to your car late at night after work, or finding yourself in an uncomfortable situation with a stranger, just press the button that says, “Hold until safe.”  If something happens, let go and the police are automatically and instantly informed of your location.

*Waze

Worried about traffic?  You don’t have to with the Waze app!  It’s the world’s largest community-based traffic and navigation app that joins drivers in your area who share real-time traffic and road info.  That will save you tons of time avoiding traffic, and with gas prices, who wants to cruise around aimlessly wasting it?

*AroundMe

“What do you want to eat?”  “I don’t know, what do you want to eat?” – sound familiar?  With AroundMe, you’ll never be indecisive again!  No matter where you are, or what you need, this app easily and quickly lets you know where the closest restaurants, hospitals, gas stations, banks, movie theaters and more are in reference to you!

*Mint

This neat app, Mint, helps you manage your money – all of your money.  It combines your balances and investments, and even your bank account balances in one place so you can keep track of your spending and savings easier.

*Burner

Sometimes, giving your phone number out leads to unwanted calls, texts and SPAM!  With Burner, you’ll get a temporary number that can be texted and called, and expires after a specific time that you set.  Pretty brilliant, right?

*Slice

The Slice app will help you keep track of all of those awesome deals you purchased from My Dallas Mommy and anywhere online!  It automatically grabs tracking numbers from your email account, when you receive confirmations that your packages have shipped.  It will alert you and let you know when to expect your package – leaving you more time wondering, researching and worrying about those packages!
