flyWatcha’ doin’ for the Thanksgiving holiday?  I was thinking about flying over the holiday and got to doing some research to save on flights.  Here is what I found!  If you plan on booking a trip for Thanksgiving, NOW is the time to make it happen! From what I can tell, prices are going to continue to rise.

Hopper.com recently published a report comparing travel data from between 2013 and 2014.  The report reveals most Thanksgiving travelers don’t start booking before October. Hopper’s report shows that in 2013, prices for airfare remained constant until 10 days before departure, at which point they shot up!  Here is the bad news…prices are ALREADY going up.

And Hopper’s data isn’t showing prices will get any better, so I would book sooner rather than later. The Hopper report showed that flight prices during Thanksgiving 2013 were 35% higher than non-holiday flights in November.

Here is an example of a good deal that you might want to hop on!

Southwest Airlines to / from Dallas: 1-Way Flights from $172.10 from Dallas to Denver departing on November 26. If you can travel on either side of this date, you can save at least $36.

Southwest Airlines offers 1-way fares with prices starting at $55.60
Frontier Airlines offers select 1-way fares on select routes with prices starting at $14.98
