Dallas-based Zoës Kitchen believes that goodness is meant to be shared. In that spirit, Zoës is hosting the Summer of Goodness initiative, which inspires people to do good and then share their good deeds through #sharegoodness.

When I hear stories about random acts of kindness, it makes my heart swell (to be honest, I usually cry!). An act of kindness doesn’t even require money…sure, you can pick up the tab for someone’s coffee, but simple things such as holding the door open for someone, making a donation of gently used books and magazine to a nursing home, mowing a neighbor’s yard, or offering to babysit for a friend/neighbor are just as powerful.

We’d love to see our MyDFWMommy readers take part in the Zoës Summer of Goodness and share with us your act of kindness – let’s help inspire one another! We’ll give one reader a Summer of Goodness Prize Pack which includes an All You magazine yearly subscription, a coupon book, and a Target $25 gift card, plus a  Zoës Kitchen gift card and other goodies ($100 total value!)

To enter, leave us a comment below and share an act of kindess you performed. Earn earn extra entries for using the hashtag #sharegoodness on social media platforms whether it’s a Facebook post, Tweet or Instagram tag. Just come back and leave us the link!

We’ll announce a winner on Friday, 8/1!

Remember…no act of kindness, no matter how small is wasted!

I love random acts of kindness. i have purchased the meal for the person behind me in the drive thru before, or helped a couple out with groceries. We recently helped pull weeds and clean up some
yards from a tornado disaster. we served the homeless and shared a meal with them. Just visiting and listening to their stories and showing them a little love was so rewarding. The smiles that were put on their faces were priceless! My daughter Zoë loves Zoë’s Kitchen and recently a location was opened by us yay! what a great giveaway #sharethelove #sharegoodness sometimes a simple smile is all that someone needs to brighten their day.

while on a mission trip the first day we had arrived i was approached by a single mom passing through who had ran out of gas. I never carry cash on me but for some reason i told myself i will bring $20 with me for emergency. without thinking i pulled the $ out and filled her tank to get her where she needed to be. that was all the $ i had on me but i knew God would provide and I hoped that i brightened this moms day a little and showed her hope and faith do exist.

We saw an elderly lady walking one evening with a coupe grocery bags up a big hill. We stopped and asked her if she needed a ride. She lived a good 1.5 to 2 miles away. She was so thankful! We love helping people whenever we can! My 6 year old just the other day helped an elderly man who bent over and all his papers from his bag fell. He stopped and helped him pick it all up without even being told! Love that he loves helping just as much!

me and hubby went to Wal-Mart and there’s a couple of elders asking questions about buying a small flat screen tv for their kitchen. They were afraid not to be able to put it on right. so we went to their apt and install it for them. feelsgoodto do something nice for stranger

A friend and I were driving around and saw an old man attempting to push his own car on a hot day with no one around to help. My friend and I decided to push the mans car all the way to his home which happened to be just a few streets down, luckily, and then we walked back to the store. I have a special place in my heart for the elderly.
