In just a few short weeks, the streets will be lined with vampires, princesses, dragons, kitty cats and more. While Halloween is a fun holiday, the weeks leading up to it are just as fun. With tons of fun crafts and spooky treats, these next few weeks are filled with fun for children (and adults) of all ages. Check out this list of fun crafts, treats, and local events to enjoy this spooky season.

  1. Denton’s Day of the Dead Festival October 29th, 2016

Denton’s Day of the Dead Festival is a free, family-friendly event held outside on E. Hickory and Industrial St. Spirits will be high as we celebrate the fall season, paying homage to the goodness of the harvest, Dia de los Muertos, and all things Halloween. You’ll enjoy it right down to your bones.

2. Boo at the Zoo at Fort Worth Zoo October 28th, 29th, and 30th from 10am to 5pm

Halloween-themed activities and entertainment will be located throughout the Zoo for all guests to enjoy. Get up close and personal at Wild Encounters with the zookeepers as they deliver amazing facts and stats about your favorite wild things! Trick-or-treat at treat stations located throughout the Zoo. Then, stick around for even more entertainment throughout the night!

3. Phantom of the Opera at Bass Performance Hall October 20th to October 30th

Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA will come to Fort Worth as part of a brand new North American Tour. Critics are raving that this breathtaking production is “bigger and better than ever before and features a brilliant new scenic design by Paul Brown, Tony Award-winning original costume design by Maria
Bjornson, lighting design by Tony Award-winner Paule Constable, new choreography by Scott Ambler, and new staging by director Laurence Connor.

4. Dia De Los Muertos October 29th, 2016

The DIA DE LOS MUERTOS 5k Race & Fun Run event coincides with Artes de la Rosa’s annual festival which has become an annual tradition for families and the North Texas Community featuring artisans, folkloric performances, and a celebration of the holiday.

5. Treat Street in the Stockyards October 31st, 2016

Dress your family in their Halloween best and head on down to the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards on Saturday, October 31! Join Stockyards Station and 92.1 Hank FM Party Patrol from 6-8pm for costume contests, pumpkin decorating, games, hayrides and trick or treating at Stockyards Station shops.

Treat Street is a safe, family-friendly event that is FREE and open to the public. All Treat Street activities will occur in Stockyards Station Mall located at 140 East Exchange Avenue.
