July 4th Events & Celebrations in Dallas & Fort Worth

The Dallas and Fort Worth area have some awesome July 4th events and celebrations – from parades to concerts and barbecues!

Fourth of July Events and Celebrations

Here is a rundown of our favorite celebrations throughout the city- just look for an area near you to find the activities. If we’ve missed any, make sure and let us know!

Addison

Top-rated July 4th fireworks show promises to be bigger and better this year with a 30 minute with an airshow, entertainment, concessions and 30 minutes of awesome fireworks. Visitors can enjoy the show at Addison Circle Park or from any number of watching parties at Addison restaurants and hotels. Kaboom Town is free to attend but admission to Addison Circle Park will be cut off once capacity is reached.

4:00 pm – Addison Circle Park gates open
5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Live entertainment on the Budweiser Stage, games, food and beverage (including beer and wine)
7:00 pm – Addison Airport Airshow
9:30 pm – Fireworks show (simulcast on Jack FM 100.3)
10:00 p.m. – midnight – Party Machine performs on the Budweiser Stage

Allen

2016 Market Street Allen USA at Celebration Park

The Gin Blossoms headline the musical entertainment at the 21st annual celebration. Family friendly activities at the festival include live entertainment all day on two stages, several themed Zones and a show-stopping Fireworks Finale.

The Gin Blossoms take the stage at 8:20 p.m. Fireworks are from 10:05-10:30 p.m.

• Kid Zone – craft tent, airbrush tattoos and hair painting for children and more (most activities require tickets or wristband)
• Military Zone – military vehicle display
• Sports Zone – sports-inspired bounce houses, speed drills and inflatable competitions, appearances by players from the Allen Americans, Griffins Rugby, Dallas Sidekicks and Texas Revolution
• GuideLive Food Zone – festival foods and Cool Zone station
• Jurassic Zone – animatronic dinos from the Dallas Zoo’s Giants of the Jurassic exhibit
• The Tailgate – live DJ, corn hole and bucket ball games, phone charging station

Patriotic Salute featuring the Allen Philharmonic Winds at Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm

Celebrate America’s Independence Day with a Patriotic Salute featuring the Allen Philharmonic Winds. The musicians will perform a lively mixture of marches and classic Americana melodies. The “Music Makes a Difference” honoree is Heroes on the Water.

Light Up Arlington at Downtown Arlington

Arlington’s annual hometown Independence Day celebration, presented by Arlington Parks & Recreation, includes Kids Zone activities, food trucks and carnival concessions, performances on three stages – the Boomtown Kids stage, Grease Monkey stage and the Levitt Pavilion (Brad Thompson/Hannah Kirby). Fireworks, set to music from 95.6 The Ranch, start at 9:45 p.m.

Lawn chair/blanket, snacks, picnics and coolers are permitted. Admission is free but some Kids Zone activities require a fee. Free parking available at UTA.

Three locations for fun and games before the fireworks:
Boomtown (NE corner of Center & Border streets) – 92.1 Hank FM live music stage, food trucks, inflatable games, petting zoo, temporary tattoos, face painting.
Firecracker Alley (NW corner of Abram and Pecan streets) – Train rides, food trucks, caricature artist and face painting.
Kids Corner (NW corner of Front and Pecan streets) – Concessions, bounce house, face painting.

Bedford’s 4thFest:

Join the City of Bedford this July 4th, as we celebrate Independence Day. This 4thFEST will feature free live musical entertainment, a variety of themed family friendly activities, a classic car show, yummy festival food and of course, the spectacular fireworks when the sun goes down.

Admission to 4thFEST is FREE. Feel free to bring lawn chairs, blankets, coolers and non-alcoholic beverages (No glass containers).

The fireworks go off at 10:00p.m. from the Boys Ranch Park!

Burleson Fourth of July Parade at Old Town Burleson

The Burleson Lions Club is hosting the 2016 Fourth of July Parade in Old Town Burleson on July 4th at 9 a.m.

Celina

Splash and Blast at Old Celina Park

Patriotic family-focused annual independence celebration. Fireworks, wet and dry slides, live music on two stages, classic car show, bounce houses, kids activities and games, vendors, food and fireworks at dark.

Music: The Texas Blue Tones, Chaz Marie and Jon Christopher Davis on the Main Stage and then stroll over to The Gazebo Stage for acoustic bluegrass, gospel and old country jam sessions.

Free Admission & free kids activities including slides and bounce houses. Parking $5.

Spirit of Coppell Celebration and Fireworks at Wagon Wheel Park

Celebrate Independence Day in Wagon Wheel Park with high-energy dance band Emerald City and a fireworks display (at 9:30 p.m.) choreographed to patriotic music. Kids can enjoy bounce houses, face painting and photo booths. Pack a picnic or buy a snack from food vendors who will be offering funnel cakes, turkey legs, pizza and more.

Fourth of July Weekend at Dallas Arboretum

Continuing the celebration of our nation’s independence in true red, white and blue style, active and retired members of our esteemed armed services will receive free admission on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, and everyone can enjoy patriotic music and flags throughout the garden.

Red, White and Boom on the Bridge at Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge

Mrs. Baird’s presents City of Dallas & KLUV’s Red, White and Boom on the Bridge. The beautiful downtown Dallas skyline will light up with a fantastic fireworks show to celebrate America’s Independence Day. The Westbound Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge will also be closed and open to pedestrians.

The festival is free and open to the public and includes the fireworks show, musicians and other local performers, food, vendors, children’s activities and more.

Fair Park Fourth:

The 2016 Fair Park Fourth will be held on Monday, July 4. The event will feature free fireworks sponsored by Oncor with the best seating in the Cotton Bowl, the Midway will be open, and Dallas Winds (formerly the Dallas Wind Symphony) will perform a free concert.

Flower Mound Independence Fest & Fireworks Show: Headlined by Loverboy, Independence Fest 2016 will continue to build on the success of previous years to be a great day of celebration, and, as always, admission and parking are FREE!

A full day of activities begins with the annual Children’s Parade at the Lewisville ISD School Administration Building, 1800 Timber Creek Rd., and concludes with a fantastic fireworks finale at around 9:50 p.m. that follows the free concert featuring Loverboy at Bakersfield Park. Gates open at 5 p.m. Please note there will be no on site parking.

Independence Fest 2016 will also see a performance from crowd favorite Le Freak, plus a vintage car show, a showcase of our local businesses, food and drinks for the whole family, and a completely FREE Kid’s Zone complete with bounce houses, face painting, and more.

Denton

Denton’s Kiwanis Club Fireworks Show: The City of Denton has a big fireworks display hosted by the Denton Kiwanis Club. (FREE) July 4, 2016 at 6:00 pm

The City of Denton and Mean Green Athletics present DENTON KIWANIS CLUB FIREWORKS SHOW Apogee Stadium at UNT – Gates open at 6:00pm It’s Denton County’s most spectacular night, and has been for over forty years! Come inside for live music by Raised Right Men, followed by an awesome array of fireworks that light up the sky. The event is FREE (parking in all lots $10), but donations are gladly accepted by our energetic “Bucket Brigade” before, during, and after

Farmer’s Branch

Farmers Branch Independence Day Celebration at Farmers Branch Historical Park

Celebrate the Fourth at a patriotic fest featuring a high-energy dance band, a free KidZone area, concessionaires and a low-level fireworks finale. And don’t miss the Uncle Willie’s Pie Eating Contest. There will be two rounds for adults and one for children, with prizes for the top 3 pie-eaters in each round. The $10 entry fee will benefit a local hero.

Fort Worth’s Fourth at Panther Island Pavilion – 2 to 11 p.m.

Fort Worth’s Fourth is a free family event hosted on the banks of the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion. Admission and all family activities such as zip lines, bounce houses, water slides and more are free to the public. The celebration will take place all afternoon with family activities, live music, tubing and when the sun goes down attendees will be treated to the biggest fireworks show in North Texas.

Back by popular demand, Aquafly fly board shows will feature riders performing tricks on what can only be described as water fueled jet-packs. These high-flying daredevils are guaranteed to make the audience’s hearts stop with stunts only seen in the movies. In addition, jet ski shows will be back this year. The shows will feature multiple backflips, barrel rolls, 360s, 540s, extended combinations of tricks strung together back to back, while taking hands and feet off of the ski.

Pack a picnic and celebrate Independence Day with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. Enjoy patriotic music followed by a thrilling fireworks show.

Box office opens at 5:30 p.m. Grounds open at 6:30 p.m. Concerts begin at 8:15 p.m. Pack a picnic or purchase concessions on site.

Frisco

Frisco Freedom Fest at Frisco Square – 4-10:30 p.m.

Celebrate Independence Day with family fun at Party in the Plaza at Simpson Plaza in Frisco Square. The all-day event features a Children’s Expo with multiple zip lines, hamster ball races, Euro bungees, rock climbing, inflatables and more. Soccer fans can take in an FC Dallas match across the street at Toyota Stadium (requires ticket purchase).

Featured performers include Eagles tribute band Into the West, Fancy Fingers Baton Twirlers and the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blue dance team. Other fun attractions include performances on the Community Stage, Hometown Heroes area with local First Responders, and the Patriotic Vendors Village. And foodies will enjoy the Taste of Frisco with a variety of great bites from Frisco restaurants.

The party wraps up with a 20-minute fireworks display that starts at approximately 10 p.m.

Garland

*Firewheel Town Center and the City of Garland have partnered to host Star Spangled Spectacular from 4 – 10 p.m. On Monday, July 4, guests can enjoy an array of free family fun including bounce houses, face painting, snacks from Food Truck Alley and more! Families can have a blast with 92.1 Hank FM Party Patrol and end the night with a bang with a special patriotic show-stopping fireworks.

Firewheel Town Center will also present a day of free entertainment in the Star Spangled Spectacular Family Activities area. Guests who visit the Star Spangled Spectacular Family Activities area will enjoy bounce houses, face painting, strolling entertainment and great family fun.

At 9:15 p.m. spectacular, show-stopping fireworks, choreographed to an exciting arrangement of patriotic songs, will light up the sky and everyone’s eyes. Attendees should prepare for a wonderful show with an enhanced finale!

Grandbury

Granbury’s Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration at Granbury Square Plaza

Celebrate the Fourth in Granbury with a hometown parade, live music, opera house performances, a classic car show, arts & crafts, food vendors on the Square, ghosts and legend tours, the Kiwanis Firecracker 5k run, and more. The celebration is topped off with a fireworks show over Lake Granbury that has been ranked among the Top 10 shows in the Southwest

*Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration

Two nights of spectacular fireworks on Sunday, July 3 and Monday, July 4. Kids will enjoy the Family Fun Park featuring pony rides, a petting zoo, obstacle course, zip line, bounce houses, face painters, tattoo artists and much more. Music lovers will enjoy live music by Vegas Stars between the races. Following the last race each night there will be a spectacular, 20-minute firework display choreographed to music.  Members of any branch of the military receive free general admission with a valid military I.D.

On Sunday, July 3, one lucky customer will drive away in a brand new 2016 Ford Mustang! Customers can receive an entry form at the admission gates until 7:25 p.m. Ten (10) finalists will be chosen and given a key to try and unlock the Mustang’s door. The person with the key that unlocks the door will be the Grand Prize winner!*

*Must be 21 years of age or older to enter. All entries to be deposited in the designated entry bins by the entry deadline of 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2016.

Grapevine

Grapevine’s July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza: Designated viewing areas include lakeside parks and the rooftop of Gaylord Texan parking garage. Fireworks will continue rain or shine. If there is extreme weather or heavy rain at 9:30 p.m. the fireworks show will start after the weather has passed.

Summerfest Queen of Hearts Light Up the Night Party and 3D Light Show

SummerFest at Gaylord Texan hosts a free, Alice in Wonderland-themed 3D light show, Friday and Saturday nights, May 27-Sept. 3, and on Sundays night over Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day weekends (May 29, July 3 and Sept. 4).

The party starts at 9 p.m. in the Lone Star Atrium with strolling characters, balloon artists, music and more. The Breaking Through the Looking Glass 3D visual light show begins at 9:30 p.m. See the Mission Plaza walls magically transform into a live 3D canvas with spectacular Alice-themed imagery. Watch as the walls change shape, giant mushrooms appear and animals creep out from the shadows.

Irving

*Independence Day Fireworks Show, Lake Carolyn

Lake Carolyn is the site for the evening festivities with live music and fireworks, festival food in the Food Court, Kids Zone and a strolling Uncle Sam. Located at the intersection of E. Las Colinas Blvd. and Lake Carolyn Pkwy., the Fireworks Show offers a fantastic way to finish your Independence Day. Entry is free.
6-9 p.m. – Kids Zone with zip line, trampoline and more
7 p.m. – Rootsy rock ‘n’ roll band American Aquarium
9:15 p.m. – Irving Symphony Orchestral perform in conjunction with a 20-minute fireworks spectacular that will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.

-Bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating.
-Umbrellas and pop-up tents are permitted, but must be secured to the ground.
-Outside food and beverage are permitted.
-Leashed, well-behaved dogs are permitted.
-Please refrain from smoking within the event grounds.

Lake Cities

Lake Cities Fourth of July at Lake Dallas City Park

This spectacular, one-of-a-kind celebration unites the communities of Lake Dallas, Corinth, Hickory Creek and Shady Shores in celebration of our Nation’s birth. The festivities begin with a patriotic parade followed by food, contests (including a mustache and bBeard competition), vendors, inflatable water slides, horseback rides and toe tappin’ music. The day is brought to a close with one of the largest, most dazzling fireworks displays in the area. Starts at 9 a.m and runs through 10 p.m.

Lewisville

Lewisville Castle Hills Freedom Festival:  5:00PM – 9:00PM: July 4 Freedom Festival
AT DUSK PM: Fireworks This year’s activities include: a euro bungee, a water slide, two mobile gaming units, a giant inflatable obstacle course, bounce houses, carnival

This year’s activities include: a euro bungee, a water slide, two mobile gaming units, a giant inflatable obstacle course, bounce houses, carnival games and prizes, as well as face painters, balloon artists and arts and crafts by The Enchanted Artist. Don’t forget to stop by the photo booth for a free photograph with your friends or family! Concessions will be available for purchase from many of the area’s favorite food trucks.

Mansfield’s Rockin’ 4th of July at Big League Dreams Sports Park

Enjoy free family activities, a rock concert with High Definition band and a fireworks show. Activities include a military appreciation, homerun derby, bounce houses, ice slide and smash car. Free admission.

Bring lawn chairs/blankets and cash for food and drinks. No pets, outside food or coolers allowed. Park at Vernon Newsom Stadium and ride the free shuttle.

McKinney

Red, White and BOOM: Festival and Fireworks at McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch

McKinney’s Fourth of July celebration includes kids’ activities, food, a concert by the Blue Water Highway band and a spectacular fireworks display wtih a “Sounds of America” soundtrack simulcast live on WRR-FM (101.1).

7-9:30 p.m. – Family activities and food
8-9:30 p.m. – Blue Water Highway concert
9:45 p.m. – Fireworks

Morning events in downtown McKinney include a parade and car show.

Free and open to the public. Coolers allowed but no alcoholic beverages or grilling. No pets.

Red, White & BOOM daytime events in downtown McKinney include a parade and car show.

Celebrate Freedom Festival 2016at Southfork Ranch

94.9 KLTY presents a free outdoor concert featuring Christian music artists Casting Crowns, Newsboys (pictured), Chris Tomlin, Phil Wickham, Laura Story, Ellie Holcomb and more. Gates open at 11 a.m., music begins at noon.

The festival also includes a Children’s Village with free activities and a six-acre inflatables amusement park that offers all-day play for $20. There is also an area with exhibits, an air-conditioned rest area, a food court, a merchandise tent, and a Meet the Performers area.

Tickets are free, but are required to get the $15 parking option. Otherwise parking is $25. Free tickets are available at all area CareNow, Taco Casa, Kwik Kar and Interstate Battery All Battery Centers locations.

Plano

Plano Lions Independence Day Parade at Plano ISD Administration Building– 9 a.m.-11 a.m.

Watch flags wave as bands, Scouts, floats and antique cars pass by. This year’s parade theme is “Star Spangled Plano.” The parade starts at the Plano ISD administration building and ends at Plano Senior High School.

Richardson Family 4th Celebration at Breckinridge Park

Sparks will fly at Richardson’s annual 4th of July celebration. This traditional, patriotic event is free and families are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets/lawn chairs and enjoy an evening under the stars. Food and drinks will also be available to purchase.

Attractions include strolling balloon artists, bounce houses, and a climbing wall for the kids and safety awareness information for all.
Entertainment:
• 6:30 – Texas Flood (Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute)
• 8:45 – Richardson Community Band
• 9:45 – Fireworks

On-site parking is limited, but free shuttle service from the Rockwell-Collins International Campus (SE corner of Renner & Shiloh) is available. No pets are not allowed on the shuttles, only service dogs.

Sachse

Sachse Red, White and Blue Blast at Heritage Park

Sachse celebrates the holiday with a patriotic community parade, live entertainment, kids’ activities, food vendors, bounce houses, contests and, of course, fireworks. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and bug spray for an old-fashioned family Fourth.

The parade steps off at 6 p.m. from the Sachse Library parking lot and ends at Heritage Park, site of the festival and fireworks.

Southlake Stars & Stripes at Southlake Town Square

The annual festival in Southlake Town Square includes strolling characters, delicious food, candy art, inflatables, and live music by the Southlake Community Band, Lone Star Attitude, and high-energy party band Limelight. A Creation Station for kids offers patriotic crafts and games.

Fireworks start after dark (about 9:30 p.m.). The music and fun will continue after the fireworks.

Remote parking is available at White’s Chapel Methodist Church with free shuttle.

Admission, parking and Kids Zone activities are free.

Liberty by the Lake 2016 at Colony Five Star Sports Complex

Wylie Jubilee Bluegrass on Ballard at Downtown Wylie

Free bluegrass festival features top bands performing 3-10 p.m., car show, arts & crafts, chili cook-off in Olde City Park, great food and new this year – fireworks (9:45 p.m.). Guests are welcome to bring their instruments and jam all day. Activities for the kids include pony rides and bounce houses.

Slated to perform are Special Consensus, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Bluegrass Band, Texas & Tennessee, Downtown String Band, Phil Ferguson & Texas True, Strings of Faith.
