Beyond the fun, Labor Day can also mean finding some serious bargains!  Below is a list of Labor Day deals and some tips to help you shop Labor Day sales like a pro.

What to Buy Over Labor Day Weekend

Expect a Month’s Worth of Deals
Like most holidays, retailers have turned Labor Day into a massive, multi-week extravaganza. Last year, sales started as early as August 7 and wrapped up on September 5, which means you can expect about a month’s worth of deals again this year.  Do your homework and check out the sales. But your work isn’t done once you’ve zeroed in on a sale event you like. Read the fine print of any deal, as you may need to enter a specific coupon code or have a physical coupon in-hand at checkout to guarantee you’ll get the advertised price.

Shop Online
Browsing online makes it easier to compare product prices across an endless selection of stores and search for any applicable coupon codes. Plus, if you bundle your items right, you might be able to reach a retailer’s free shipping minimum.

Stock Up on Summer Apparel
If popular apparel and accessory retailers offer deals this year that are anything close to last year, you could be in for a real treat.  Take advantage of summer clearance sales to stock up on some last-minute summer gear.

Upgrade Your Patio Furniture
It’s is actually a great month for buying new outdoor furniture because deals are at their lowest price of the season and any furniture you buy today you’ll still be able to use throughout August and most of September. Last August we saw major clearance sales with discounts that ranged from 50% to 75% off.

Now is the Time to Buy a New Grill
Save between 25% to 60% off various charcoal- and gas-based grills at major retailers. Deals will include brands like Kenmore, Weber, Char-Broil, and La Hacienda. Accessories are often on sale up to 75% during August as well. If you don’t find a deal on the right grill, many of these sales will spill over into September, particularly around Labor Day.

Holiday airfare
If you’re planning on traveling this Thanksgiving or Christmas, Labor Day discounts will help you book your holiday trip for less

Best Bets

Amazon will be announcing tons of new limited-time sales and deals so stay tuned.

Staples
If you’re looking for back-to-school supplies, Staples is probably your best bet. Not only will it be offering deep discounts over the long weekend, it’ll also have tons of savings available in the weeks leading up to Labor Day.

JCPenney
Last year, the department store discounted clothing, furniture and home decor. Plus, all Labor Day weekend long, shoppers can take 20% off with their JCPenney Credit Card or 15% off with any other form of payment.

Macy’s
Beginning Sept 2., the department store will launch a Labor Day furniture and mattress sale. Shoppers can even reserve their purchases now before the sale begins.
