Most of us are looking forward to summer and spending more time with our kids but the lack of schedule can sometimes make it hard to organize your time. For me, I want to make sure our days aren’t so full of activities and events that we miss needed time to stop, relax and just enjoy being together.

Plus, it is also important to teach my little ones how to be creative when they are bored and how to appreciate discovering adventure in our own backyard and the use their imaginations. Above all, I just want to cherish these summer moments and enjoy this precious time as a family before the school year starts back up!

So here’s a fun idea to create a Summer bucket list with your family. Everyone can contribute, no matter their age and if you knock everything off your list by August, you are sure to have had a great off season! These are a few of the ideas my family came up with to get your started:

  • Visit the summer display at the library to check out new books and read throughout the summer
  • Make homemade playdoh
  • Roast marshmallows
  • Run through the sprinklers
  • Go to a baseball game
  • Rest and relax at home
  • Go to the water park
  • Visit Daddy’s office and have lunch with him
  • Make ice cream at home
  • Go to the zoo
