Shopping for electricity has become more complicated and confusing for the consumer. Over 90% of the people in Texas overpay for electricity. After Texas deregulated electricity the consumer hasn’t actually reaped the rewards. That is the ultimate reason Energy Ogre was started… to help the consumer. Energy Ogre is a technology company similar to an Expedia or Travelocity for the electricity business.
Every day they input over 1600 rate programs from over 150 different electricity companies into their system to help the consumer find the right plan for their home. They look at each home and evaluate how they use electricity and find the right rate program for their specific needs.
All you do is input some data from you latest electricity bill and it will generated over 25 different savings plans for your home. On average they save 40-60% for their members. Their system will always generate the lowest possible cost. If you want to take advantage of the savings you have to sign up and be a member. They charge $10 a month to manage your electricity for you. The cost to be a member is small compared to what we can save. As a member when electricity cost change they will alert you if you have the opportunity to save more. If so they will send you a notice that we are changing you to a different plan.
The personnel behind Energy Ogre have been involved with the Texas electricity markets since well before they deregulated in 2002. This group has built power plants, scheduled fuel and electricity and even owned and managed Retail Electricity Providers in the recent past.
