The State Fair of Texas is an annual festival event held at Fair Park in Dallas. It’s food, it’s farm animals, it’s fun for all ages. In 2014, the State Fair of Texas runs from September 26 through October 19.
You’ll spend money on the great food, rides or games but don’t forget that there are a lot of fun things to do at the fair that are free. Concerts, livestock shows, the car show and more attractions don’t cost any money. Pick up a visitor’s guide when you enter the fair so you don’t miss a thing.
Hours: The Fair is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Exhibit buildings open at 10 a.m. daily and close at 9 p.m. Sunday – Thursdays. Buildings remain open until 10 p.m. each Friday and Saturday.

Tickets are available for purchase at the State Fair or you can shop in advance at your local Kroger. Tickets to the 2014 State Fair of Texas will be available at registers beginning September 1, 2014.

There are many special discounts during the State Fair of Texas.
On opening day, September 26, 2014, bring a full 20 oz. Dasani water bottle or any Coca-Cola product for donation to the North Texas Food Bank containers at Fair admission gates and enter the State Fair for $6 per donation per person.

Kroger – Advanced General Admission / Season Passes
Advance purchase General Admission tickets are $15.50. A Season Pass is $34.95. They may be purchased at the check-out counter or at the service desk. The season pass includes a one-day companion ticket (good Monday-Friday).
McDonald’s – Any Day Discount
McDonald’s offers $3 off General Admission with one of their State Fair coupons (available on tray liner or bag stuffer) any day of the Fair. A $6 child ticket (with purchase of general admission) coupon is also distributed by McDonald’s. Discount may not be combined with any other offer.
Kroger Can Food Drive – Any Wednesday
Admission is $3 for each visitor bringing 3 cans of food for area food banks.
Senior Day presented by GenWorth Financial – Any Thursday
Senior Citizens 60 years and older get in to the State Fair FREE each Thursday. Sponsored by GenWorth Financial, Inc.
Dr Pepper $5 – Any Tuesday
Bring an empty Dr Pepper can and enter for $5. Most rides (excluding the Thrillway and the Texas Star) are 6 coupons.
Dr Pepper $8 after 5 – Any day after 5 p.m.

Coca-Cola – Coke $6 Thursday
Bring an empty 20 oz. bottle of a Coca-Cola product and enter the Fair for $6 admission.

Download and print a coupon from the KISS-FM website. Admission is $12 with the coupon. Discount is off of general admission only – when purchased at a State Fair of Texas admission gate with coupon.
