Wow! Can you believe it’s been over a month since Christmas? February is here, which brings us President birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Groundhog Day, Black History Month and many more celebratory days! So, what’s really on sale in February? What should we be looking to buy this month?
This is the first month for Early Spring Sales, so watch for items that we post – you may not need them quite yet, but they are at their cheapest now! Chinese New Year brings us great deals on Chinese frozen foods and Asian fast food restaurants. American Heart Month gives us awesome deals at the drugstore on daily dose aspirins, heart healthy foods and more.
But what else is on sale this month? Here you go – you may be surprised!
Winter & Fall:
The first 3 months of the year are the best times to grab those scarves, hats, mittens, ski gear and any Fall or Winter stuff you can think of. The new items came out in October, and retailers want the leftovers gone off the shelves! Skis and skiing equipment will be on sale, as well as athletic shoes, under the same concept – new stuff came out later last year and the shelves need room for the Spring products.

Super Bowl:
Although the game is at the beginning of the month, we will see rockin’ prices on all football related items through February. From jerseys to memorabilia, it’s all on sale during this football-crazy month. It’s a great time to score some gifts for the rest of the year for the football fans in your life (consider putting them in your Gift Vault!). Snacks, sodas and appetizer fixings will also be rocking the stores! We will already have seen great deals in the grocery stores starting the last week of January, but it will continue through the first week of February, too!
Valentine’s Day:
Candy, hearts, flowers, jewelry, fragrances…..yep! It’s all on sale this month! We get some of the best prices on jewelry this month, and have already seen great bargains on flower delivery services, too! We will see those again in May, and one more push in December, too. The obvious items like candies and Valentines are all on sale, but you will also want to watch for great coupons for these items. Rare coupons that only come out this time of year will be released, including coupons for greeting cards, too. Be sure you are watching the blog for the best deals on all of these things! Flowers and potted plants are all on sale, but the REAL sale comes on February 15th – when they need to get rid of the stock they have on roses, tulips. lilies and the like.

Spring:
It’s not warm enough outside to even begin thinking about Spring (although in Texas, we’re a little different), but many people are! They are getting their houses ready for Spring, with new draperies, carpets, housewares, appliances and bedding. This means we see rockin’ sales on those items, and can take advantage of it! We’ll see nice carpet cleaner and steamer deals, along with the start of organization products like totes, ottomans, baskets, box shelving and more! Score great, vibrant colored sheets, towels, drapes and more.

The Presidents:
Although the birth of some wonderful Presidents gets lost in the HUGE Presidents’ Day sales that we’ll see, it IS the reason for the sales. We’ll get rockin’ deals on furniture, cars, electronics, laptops, TVs, appliances (big and small), Winter clothing, tires, linens, and even Summer vacation trips this month!

The Butcher Block:
We’ll see the cheapest prices of the year, in most cases, for stew meat and roast meats. Beef and pork for crockpot cooking will be on sale at great prices this month, so grab it and get ready to make some stews and roasts! Chicken breasts are $1.99/lb most of the time this month, and that’s our stockpile price! We’ll ALSO see great deals on chicken wings, but only after the Super Bowl, when the excess needs to be sold at discounted prices.
National ___ Month:
This month, we see great deals on food, because February features several food months! It’s National Canned Food, Grapefruit, Snack Food, Hot Breakfast, Fiber, Cherry and Pie Month in February, so watch for sales involving all of these items!
