We ALL know how bad the traffic can be in the DFW Metroplex, so I wanted to make sure you knew about this AWESOME app! Waze is my most favorite app ever when I’m trying to get back from WFAA studios. It shares real-time traffic data, gives me alternate routes, tells me when there are red light cameras and police in the area and so much more! This app has saved me a ton of time on the road!
Plus Waze has introduced a couple of nifty new features to its iOS app.
The new Planned Drives feature lets you enter a date and time for your intended destination, and Waze will then tell you when it’s time to leave based on real-time traffic data.
Given that traffic conditions can change, you will also receive an alert with an updated recommended departure time if anything changes on the road.
Plus Waze now also has explanations for slow traffic — yes, Waze will now give you the reason for a traffic jam — if it’s known, for example, that there has been an accident.
Waze said that this latest update will be arriving for Android users “soon.”
