What do we recommend?
Personally, I (Jeni) have a TV antenna I bought on Amazon for around $20, and an Amazon Fire Stick with Alexa Remote for only $39.99. The antenna has a long range, so I get plenty of live TV channels to watch the news, sports and more in real time. And we unlocked the Fire Stick and added Kodi, which gives you pretty much every show and movie you could possibly ever want to watch (even beyond Netflix!)
