If you own a small local business, here is a great event for you to attend on March 11th sponsored by ShopLocalDFW!

Jeff Milchen co-founder of the American Independent Business Alliance (AMIBA) and a leading advocate for community-based businesses, will speak at a free event open to the public at Valley View Center on Wednesday, March 11th,

Milchen will offer a provocative presentation illustrating the economic and civic importance of sustaining a strong base of local, independently-owned business. He’ll provide numerous success stories of programs developed to support community-based businesses and keep them thriving in the face of competition from chains, online businesses, and others..

A recent survey of independent business owners across the U.S. and Canada yielded powerful evidence that pro-local attitudes are growing, driving customer traffic and indicates the educational work of ShopLocalDFW.com and more than one hundred similarly-organized groups are yielding large benefits for their members and local economy.

“ShopLocalDFW.com is beneficial to all local businesses but it’s extra important to the local home furnishings, appliance, and electronics stores. The landscape of home furnishings is changing with the opening of NFM Texas in March and this is a chance for us to learn how we can highlight our strengths – being local and involved in our communities,” added Schweig.

The event is free and open to the public. To get a free local business listing or to learn more and/or get involved with ShopLocalDFW.com, email brad@sunnylandfurniture.com or call 972-239-3716
