Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) announced today that it is one of a select group of U.S. arts organizations participating in the live stream event, Hershey Felder: Beethoven, Live from Florence. Proceeds from this live event will support DSM’s mission to deliver the spirit of Broadway to North Texas audiences through educational programs and community outreach initiatives.
Tickets are $55 per household and include access to the live stream performance plus an additional 72 hours of on-demand viewing of a video recording of the live stream, available beginning one hour after the live broadcast ends. Tickets are available exclusively online at DallasSummerMusicals.org. After purchase, patrons will receive a link and password to view the live stream.
Critically lauded in its world premiere at TheaterWorks Silicon Valley in 2017, the San Jose Mercury News called Hershey Felder: Beethoven a “towering performance about a towering composer.” Significantly, BroadwayWorld reported that Hershey Felder: Beethoven shattered box office records at TheaterWorks, establishing a new record for the 48-year-old company, which has since been maintained. Following the world premiere, the production then broke records at the San Diego Rep (the highest grossing production in its 40-year history), and was the highest grossing production at the Wallis Annenberg in Los Angeles, The Laguna Playhouse and the Leo K. Theater at Seattle Repertory Theater. Felder attributes this success to the tremendous popularity of the world’s greatest composer.
