I had never been to Denton Water Works Park so I took my family and a few of my daughter’s friends to check it out. At first impression, I was shocked at how big the park is with four slides, a water play pool, a lazy river, sand volleyball court and a party area in the middle of the Lazy River (great for birthday parties!).

Plus they treated us to a really cool cabana. These are new to the park and they have three of them you can rent. The cabana comes stacked with a table and chairs, lounge chairs and plenty of shade. If you rent the cabana they give you a bucket full of ice cold waters too.

Geno and I went straight to the Lazy River while the girls high-tailed it to the slides. The Lazy River is long, clean and TOTALLY relaxing. Geno and I floated around knowing the kids were having fun on the slides. I then went and decided to ride the slides with the girls. From ground view the slides seemed pretty manageable. But once I climbed the stairs to the tallest one, I quickly realized this slide was going to give me much more than just a thrill and a wedgie. Yeah, that puppy went STRAIGHT down. Have you ever done something where you can’t catch your breath? That was me…. all the way down. AND IT WAS A BLAST. I did it again, and again, and again! There are other great slides as well and we did them all.

Overall, I was really impressed with the size of the park and the cleanliness. It’s a great way to spend a summer day and keep cool! I highly recommend you put Denton Water Works on your summer bucket list!
