For a limited time, Ancestry is offering a FREE 6-month World Explorer Subscription ($239.94 value) for up to 10,000 K-12 teachers in the United States.

The World Explorer subscription includes unlimited access to billions of historical records on Ancestry.com including documents, newspaper articles, photos, oral histories, public family trees, and other records. It’s the perfect full-access option to build lesson plans or projects to help your students understanding fo events and milestones throughout history.

Teaching credentials will need to be verified through SheerID and a credit card is required to set up the account, but it will not be charged. Note that educators cannot create family trees for students and this offer is supposed to be for new subscribers only, however you may be able to snag this deal even if you have in the past so be sure to try!

In addition, remote access to Ancestry Library Edition is also being extended through the end of December for library patrons and Library cardholders working remotely select libraries nationwide that subscribe to Ancestry Library Edition. You can contact your local library and ask if they participate in Ancestry Library Edition to get access to this database and for more details.
