FREE Dickens Festival This Friday in Plano

Nestled in the heart of the Downtown Plano Arts District, check out Dickens which will include live entertainment, food, a variety of attractions, and a visit from Santa. From 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. this Friday, various live performances from local bands will take place throughout the festival area. At 8 p.m., Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis will take the stage at McCall Plaza to close out this year’s Dickens.

Dallas Ice FX will be onsite this year for their inaugural “Ice Fights”, a competitive ice sculpting exhibition. Take a wild ride at the snow tubing attraction, featuring a 30-foot track of real snow. Don’t miss free horse-drawn wagon rides, along with balloon artists and children’s activities from local non-profit organizations. Be sure to visit Santa at the gazebo and bring your camera or cellphone to capture the moment.

Food vendors are onsite to offer an assortment of tasty treats, including hot drinks, beer and wine, kettle corn, smoked turkey legs, fried fish and shrimp, funnel cakes, and more! Many downtown businesses will extend their hours for this annual event and invite you to browse for the perfect holiday gifts for everyone on your “nice” list.
