With the greatest views of the downtown Dallas skyline and White Rock Lake, the Dallas Arboretum is hailed as one of the best picnic spots in North Texas, so Dallas Blooms celebrates with the theme, “Life’s A Picnic.”

Presented by IBERIABANK, the festival runs through April 7 and features an extraordinary, larger-than-life, picnic scene topiary comprised of a stunning 40’x40’ picnic blanket, a vase of flowers, a picnic basket with pie and a giant picnic ant, sponsored by Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate.

Flowers are another highlight of the festival with more than 100 varieties of spring bulbs and 500,000 blooms bursting with color. Every weekend, there’s live music on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn—the perfect place to picnic—to listen to the sounds of the best of the best party bands during Dallas Blooms. Each week also showcases one of the best picnic scenes throughout film.

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is located on the southeastern shore of White Rock Lake at 8525 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas 75218. The Dallas Arboretum is also the home of the internationally acclaimed Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden. Beginning March 29th the Easter Bunny will be available for photos and visits at Firewheel Town Center and North East Mall.

The Bunny Photo Experience begins March 29 and runs through April 21 at Firewheel Town Center and North East Mall. Kids will have the chance to visit with the Bunny and take home a treasured snapshot of the fun occasion. Firewheel Town Center’s Bunny Photo Experience will be located in between Old Navy and Buckle, and North East Mall’s Bunny Photo Experience will be in Center Court.

Firewheel Town Center and North East Mall also provide opportunities for people with all spectrums of special needs and their families to enjoy this time-honored holiday tradition through a sensory-friendly Caring Bunny event in association with Autism Speaks. Caring Bunny will occur at Firewheel Town Center on Sunday, March 31 from 9-11 a.m. and at North East Mall on Sunday, April 7 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Guests can register in advance at simon.com/caringbunny. Each property’s Bunny Photo Experience will also share the heart of the Easter Bunny by collecting donations for Autism Speaks throughout the season.

At each center’s Caring Bunny event, many steps will be taken to reduce sensory triggers, creating a more comforting environment for children’s cherished visit with the Bunny. The subdued environment is likely to include (specific elements or aesthetics may vary):

Turning off in-mall music, stopping escalators located near the photo set, dimming the lights and shutting down fountains for the duration of the event. Eliminating queue lines through the use of a numbering system whereby guests approach the set when their number is called. Special activities geared toward the needs of guests during the ‘wait’ period.

The popular Pet Photo Night returns to the Easter Bunny Photo Experience at Firewheel Town Center and North East Mall this year. Many pet owners view their pet as an integral member of the family and are just as committed in caring for their pets as their human family members. Pet Photo nights are hosted after regular mall closing and the set gets an extensive cleaning following the event to remove any potential risk to allergy sufferers. Pet Photo Night will be on Sunday, April 7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Firewheel Town Center and Sunday, April 14 from 6-7:30 p.m. at North East Mall.

Families are invited to enjoy Breakfast with the Bunny on Saturday, April 5 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at TGI Fridays – Firewheel Town Center. TGI Fridays will be serving scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, fresh mixed fruit, and tasty toast, alongside coffee, juice, milk, and soda. Space is limited so reserve your tickets today! Each $15 ticket includes admission to the event, breakfast provided by TGI Fridays, a Firewheel Easter Swag Bag, event-exclusive photo coupon, retailer offerings, and a special present for kids from the Easter Bunny, which he will deliver as he hops around to each table. Guests are encouraged to arrive no earlier than 8:45 a.m. and no later than 9:25 a.m. to get checked in and seated.

Hop into spring at Firewheel Town Center’s fourth annual Easter Egg-Stravaganza on Saturday, April 13 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m in the Park. Come have fun with 92.1 Hank FM’s Party Patrol, bounce houses, balloon arts, face painters, arts and crafts and more!
