Where to Watch Fireworks This Independence Day

While many Fourth of July fireworks festivals are officially canceled in light of COVID-19, the skies over some North Texas areas will still light up in celebration of Independence Day. Here’s a list of towns that are hosting fireworks:

July 3

Allen — Market Street Allen USA Celebration may be canceled but the city will launch a 25-minute fireworks show from the corner of West Exchange Parkway and North Watters Road at 9:30 p.m. There will be no nearby parking and spectators are encouraged to watch from their homes. allenspecialevents.org.

Arlington — A 9:30 p.m. fireworks show will launch from north of Globe Life Field. Free parking at the new baseball stadium, AT&T Stadium, the Arlington Convention Center and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor opens at 8 p.m. arlingtontx.gov/independence_day.

Midlothian — Fireworks launch from Midlothian-ISD Stadium, 1800 S. 14th St. The stadium will be closed to the public but spectators can view the display remotely from locations throughout the city. July 3 at 9:15 p.m.

Southlake — Enjoy the 9:30 p.m. display, launched from Bicentennial Park, from home or catch a livestreamed version on the city of Southlake and ExperienceSouthlake Facebook pages. The park will be closed. facebook.com/cityofsouthlaketx

July 4

The Colony – Fireworks will launch in the vicinity of The Five Star Complex, 4100 Blair Oaks Dr. Watch from your vehicle. Parking opens at 8:30 p.m.

Dallas – Get comfy on the couch to view a prerecorded special that spotlights area health care workers and features fireworks from Klyde Warren Park. 10:30 p.m. on KTVT-TV (Channel 11).

Forney – Live music, food vendors and fireworks at Community Park, 241 S. FM 548, Forney from 4 to 10 p.m. Visitors are asked to respect social distancing.

Fort Worth – Fireworks begin at 9:20 p.m. from Panther Island, remote viewing only. Panther Island Pavilion will be closed.

Frisco — Parking will be available at four Toyota Stadium parking lots for viewing the 9:30 p.m. fireworks display. Other Frisco Freedom Fest events have been canceled. friscofreedomfest.org.

Grapevine Lake – Display will be viewable from parks and marinas around the lake. Parking and entrance fees may be in effect.

Little Elm – Simultaneous displays at Little Elm Park (ticketed event, parking will be limited for social distancing) and near Little Elm High School.

McKinney – Fireworks will launch from Craig Ranch Soccer Park. There will be no pedestrian parking or onsite parking allowed.

Plano — Fireworks will launch near the Plano Event Center. No onsite activities.

Rockwall – Arrive early for live music at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks launch between 9 and 9:15 p.m. Free parking and admission. Harry Myers Park, 815 E Washington.
