Dallas and Fort Worth Easter Egg Hunts and Events

Let’s get hoppin’, lots of Easter Egg hunts and events going on in DFW!  We will continue to add the list and please feel free to share any that you know of going on in the next few weeks.

Allen

Eggcellent Family Adventure

Eggcellent Family Adventure, which is one of Allen’s favorite springtime traditions and is free to attend and open to the public, is being held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 24 at Allen Civic Plaza.

Kids can bring their Easter baskets and visit tables hosted by civic organizations and local businesses to receive eggs, candy and other goodies.

There is a lot more to enjoy too with great activities like games, crafts, face painters and a bounce house — and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

With the importance of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) programs, new at this year’s event will be the Eggcellent Eggdrop presented by Chick-fil-A Allen, a competition to build a structure out of materials such as straws, tape and cardboard to prevent an egg from breaking from a 10+ foot drop. Though Eggcellent Family Adventure is free to attend, there is a $10 supply fee per individual or team to participate in the eggdrop competition.

All ages are welcome to participate in this fun, STEAM competition, but spots are limited. Online registration is now available.

Easter Open Skate

Bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Allen Community Outreach and receive free skate rental. There will be activities and an opportunity to have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

Children can try to collect as many eggs as possible from the pool during the time allowed at this exciting Easter event.

The “Under the Sea Easter Adventure,” which is open to ages 1-12, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on April 15 at Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium.

Eggs will be placed around the pool, and children can compete to collect as many as possible. Children will be separated by age group (1-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12).

Mesh bags will be provided to each hunter to collect eggs. Treats will be given to all participants. The Easter Bunny will even be available for photos before and after the hunt!

Swim attire is required, and children ages six years and under must be accompanied by a parent in the water.

The public is invited to help plant flowers in The Zack Thompson Foundation Children’s Garden inside Rolling Oaks Memorial Center for Easter in the Garden. You are encouraged to bring a bedding plant such as petunias, impatiens or begonias. Planting shovels will be provided. Guests are also welcome to bring an Easter basket with eggs to place throughout the garden. Light refreshments will be served at this casual come and go event.

Easter in Lee Park and Pooch Parade

April 1st 1-4pm

Bring a picnic basket and blanket for an afternoon of festivities including the Pooch Parade, an Easter egg hunt for children 10 and younger, photos with the Easter Bunny and food trucks, including Easy Slider, Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe and Bellatrino.

At 2 p.m., the Pooch Parade meanders down Turtle Creek Boulevard with winners selected by a panel of celebrity judges. Registration for the Pooch Parade is $10 in advance, $15 at the event. To sign up in advance, go to http://bit.ly/EITPPoochParade. Registration begins at 1 p.m.

Join us for this egg-cellent spring event! Owners will have great fun as dogs enjoy sniffing out doggie-treat filled Easter eggs at Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve. Hop on over to the swimming pool for a one-of-a-kind hunt. The Easter Bunny and PAR-D Duck will be laying eggs in the water for your child to collect. Participants should be comfortable unassisted in the water. Please bring a container to carry eggs home. Course registration age categories: Ages 3-4 #196194 Ages 5-6 #196193 Ages 7-8 #196195 Ages 9-10 #196196. Ages 3-6 will hunt in the shallow areas of the pool, while ages 7-10 will hunt in the deep sections. Following the hunt, participants may stay and swim during the public hours of 1-6pm (non-participants and parents will need to pay the daily admission fee for public swim).
