ABOUT DALLAS AND FORT WORTH

Dallas and Fort Worth are two uniquely distinct cities joined together by over 30 miles of countless suburbs that would be considered their own metropolitan areas in any other part of the country! But, as the saying goes- “Everything is bigger in Texas” and the DFW metroplex has something to offer every family on every budget.

The members of MyDFWMommy embrace our city and share local events, happenings, deals and just general living in our city on the blog, all spiced with ways to save while living in it!

Head to downtown Dallas and experience the sophisticated side of the Lone Star State. Tour the new Perot Museum of Nature and Science, The Dallas Museum of Art or the George W Bush Presidential Library. For families with younger children, you can adventure the Dallas Zoo, the Dallas Aquarium or the breathtaking Arboretum on White Rock Lake. And a must see experience for anyone visiting Big D is the Sixth Floor Museum/Main Street where you can learn all about the assassination of JFK including many of the most well known conspiracy theories.

If you are one of those people that appreciate Western culture and cowboys, downtown Fort Worth has ventures for every traveler! Cattle drives occur twice daily in the Stockyards National Historic District and Sundance Square will give you insight into the early architectural styles that influenced the region. And if that doesn’t keep your kiddos happy, head to Six Flags Over Texas, the Fort Worth Zoo or the Noble Planetarium and Museum of Science and History. For those who prefer something a little more low key, pack a picnic lunch and spend the day at the award winning Fort Worth Botanic Garden.

Sports fans will have a field day in the DFW metroplex. With professional, semi-professional and collegiate teams in football, baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey and more, there is almost always an event to attend. Take a tour of AT&T Stadium- home of the Dallas Cowboys and the largest arena in the NFL. Cheer on the division leading Texas Rangers and the always entertaining Dallas Mavericks. Or if you are a NASCAR fan, come to town during a race weekend at the Texas Motor Speedway and tailgate with the true fans!
