The 3rd quarterly free interactive women’s self-defense and kid’s stranger danger workshop and workout led by Professor Nick Chamberlain. Participants will learn techniques to avoid dangerous situations, fend off potential assailants and general self-defense methods and mentalities. Within the workshop attendees can ‘Break a Board for a Buck’ where they are taught how to break a wooden plank with their bare hand; each ‘buck’ benefits Genesis Women’s Shelter.
Complimentary kid’s stranger danger workshop (ages 4+) led by trained professionals available in neighboring gym which includes martial arts exercises, engaging games and ‘stranger danger’ lessons. A Dallas Police Department representative will be present with safety tips and a Q&A for all. As a treat for empowering themselves, Big D Kona Ice will pull up their celebrated truck and share 100 free snow cones to the participants of all ages.

Hawaiian Falls will host Champions Day on August 13th at the Garland, Mansfield, The Colony, Pflugerville, Roanoke and Waco waterparks to bless families of individuals with special needs.
The “Champions” (special needs children and adults) will get in free on these dates. One family member or caregiver accompanying them can get in for only $5, while additional immediate family members are also offered discounted tickets. More importantly, the Champions and their families will have special access to the parks before they open to the public. The Champions and their families will have exclusive use of the park from 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. on June 18 or August 13. The parks will open to the public 10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Season pass holders always get in 30 minutes before the public.) The Champions, caregivers and families can stay all day for no additional charge.

Throughout the month of August, Remington College is again providing free back-to-school haircuts for students 17 and under. Cuts for Kids allows parents to save some money on the cost of getting kids ready to go back to school, and students in the Remington College cosmetology program get real-world, hands-on experience with actual clients as part of their education.
Here’s how to participate at Remington College Dallas Campus:
