10/9 JumpstART Stories and Art –“K” is for Kindness
Celebrate Irving Public Library’s 9th Annual Big Read and enjoy heartwarming stories about tolerance and caring for others. Following the story, kids make an art project to take home. 10/11 Family Funday: Making Clay Pinch Pots (Peruvian Gold event)
Families are invited to use the free supplies at the creation station to make a clay pinch pot using the Peruvian Gold: Ancient Treasures Unearthed exhibition for inspiration. *Ticket required for entry into the Peruvian Gold exhibition. 2 p.m. l Meeting Rooms l Free

10/18-11/22 Saturday School 1: Peruvian Designs: Embossed Masks and Objects
Inspired by the Peruvian Gold: Ancient Treasures Unearthed exhibit at the Arts Center, students ages 6-10 create masks, vessels and objects inspired by ancient Peruvian designs while exploring embossing on various metallic materials. Instructor: Sheila Cunningham is a fine art photographer exploring the world through cell phone photography, digital collages, Polaroid transfers and artist books. Widely published, she teaches at universities and fine art centers throughout the country. 2 – 4 p.m. l Art Lab l $75; discount for Art Connection members
