August is Hatch Chile month and Market Street is celebrating in-store with roastings, recipes, special Hatch products and more during the Hatch Chile Fest. The official roasting dates are August 16-17 and 23-24. Stores will be sampling special Hatch Chile products each weekend as well. Here’s the best part…Market Street will be offering free roasting for any fresh Hatch chile purchase. On roasting days, they will have half gallon and gallon size bags of hatch chiles fresh out of the roaster and ready to take home.
Hatch Chile is a town in New Mexico that is world known for growing some of the best Chiles in the world. The peppers are rushed in fresh from farm and ready to roast.Hatch chiles can be used in a broad range of dishes from appetizers to desserts. They can be easily seeded and added to soups, stews, and dips, or enjoyed whole when roasted with meats or stuffed with cheese. Unlike other chile varieties, New Mexico Hatch Chiles are only available for 6 weeks each year during the months of August and September.
