All over DFW, communities will be honoring American military heroes throughout the weekend. Here are a few top parades, memorials and festivals!
Dallas
Marching bands, JROTC groups, floats, military vehicles and veterans organizations will turn downtown Dallas red, white and blue during a parade focusing on the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.

Fort Worth
Beginning at 10:45 a.m. Tarrant County Courthouse (100 E. Weatherford St.), this parade makes a stop at Sundance Square (420 Main St.) for a ceremony at 11 a.mbefore proceeding down Main St. The theme is “The War to End All Wars” and the grand marshal is Jim Hodgson, a Texas WWI Centennial Commemoration Director. There will be a flyover by a Marine squadron in F/A-18 Hornet planes.

Grapevine
Salute American military service members during a patriotic parade down Main St. and learn about organizations that help veterans in need. A fair will follow with food, music and games.

The Colony
This festival features live music by country greats Radney Foster, Restless Heart and headliner Sawyer Brown. There will be a memorial ceremony at 11 a.m., and a video exhibit honoring military veterans with local ties. Enjoy a fun run; a car, bike and truck show; carnival rides and food; a silent auction and a fireworks display at around 8 p.m.

Forney
Hundreds of collector vehicles in categories such as vintage, antiques, classics, muscle cars, trucks and low-riders will be on display at Turkey Trax Auto Show and Veterans Run, a patriotic eleventh annual event in Forney. Start the day with a 5K fun run, which benefits local veterans organizations.

McKinney
This two-part memorial features an 11th Hour ceremony at 11 a.m. with a missing man formation flyover, patriotic music and parade of colors. A sundown ceremony at 5:26 p.m.includes the reading of names on the city’s Wall of Honor before the playing of “Taps.”
